Among jazz aficionados, Branford Marsalis is regarded among the best ever. Sure, one could say that Branford's works reflect, in part, his grand appreciations for the legends. Sometimes one can hear a slice of John Coltrane, Arnette Coleman, Ben Webster, Dewey Redman, and Wayne Shorter. Yet Branford's musical signatures go beyond a place that neither his early influencers or contemporaries can reach. These signatures combine brilliant tone and lyricism.
