This Brooklyn-based crew was formed in September of 2015, and has released a multitude of demos and EPs since then. The group waited nearly three and a half years until February 2019 to release their proper debut album, Return of the Herb. And what an album it was: various punk music outlets, including Punk News, Sweet Static and Punk Rock Theory, raved about the album’s catchy hooks and well-crafted conceptualization overall. This musical realization and praise won’t have room to evolve, though: just months after Return of the Herb‘s release, Ellen and the Degenerates announced details of their breakup. Although fans were crushed, the group decided to have one final homecoming show to mark their sendoff.
