Launched in 2025, Electrobardo is the new, long overdue musical project of Dutch musician, songwriter and singer, Theo de Jong and his brother, Tjitze de Jong. An enigma of the Dutch underground, Theo was once the frontman of the somewhat legendary indie rock outfit The Serenes, who made two albums (in 1990 and 1993). After one final album with Simmer - a one-off 1997 Serenes continuation, essentially - Theo de Jong turned his back on the music scene altogether. Electrobardo marks his comeback, with his brother as his latest partner in crime. Electrobardo's first single, 'Timelapse', came out in late May 2025. An eponymous, four-track Electrobardo EP followed in June. The new music of the De Jong brothers is atmospheric and subdued, influenced by krautrock, neo-psychedelia and free jazz.
