Personnel: Rodrigo Baills aka Dr. Panic: Guitars and Programming (Mexico) Raul Oviedo: Vocals and Percussion (Cuba) Paolo Marcellini: Upright Bass (Italy) Electro 7 are an interesting mixed bag of madness. A Mexican, Cuban and Italian combine to create the sounds of Cuba merged with Psychedelic Electronica, Reggae, Hip Hop and Drum & Bass and then twisted into pop music! Electro 7 have been around a few years but it wasn't until band leader Dr Panic (Melovskys) hooked up with long time friend and traditional Cuban musician, Raul Oviedo, that their sound started to take shape. They then bought in pop producer Paolo Marcellini and the band was complete. All three have been very busy session and touring musicians or had other band projects taking up their time but in the last year the focus has been on this exciting new band and they are quickly picking up a fan base in Mexico and major label interest throughout America. The idea behind the band is to create soulful, contemporary Cuban music while experimenting with electronic sounds. A fusion of different cultures in music that when blended would give something completely new and rewarding. The sound is still very authentic and at times is pure Cuban "Son" and it really hits the spot.
