The Electric Duck played in New Jersey clubs in the late '60s. Formerly known as the 'Glass Menagerie', the New Jersey group consisted of; John Arends, Lead Singer; Sal Luizza, Bass & Vocals; Frank Knox, Keyboard & Vocals; George Ayers, Guitar & Vocals and Stephen Marcelli, Drums. They appeared at Dodd's, Mrs. Jay's, D'Jais, Scottys Carnaby Street East, Cross Keys along with other various clubs. They had links to E Street Band and Elephant's Memory. In between appearance at the Cross Keys in Rahway, their equipment and instruments burned in a fire and they were never heard from again. It's been a long time, but the memory is there. After the fire the lead singer went on to business administration and in 1997 was hired as President CEO of a large food company based in NJ. John the lead singer, now resides in North Carolina. The original song on Avco Embassy label was "Most People get happy" with the Angel's (My boyfriend's back) sing backup. Several other songs were recorded in NY at the same time. Both Sal Luizza and Frank Knox were born in Newark, NJ. Growing up together, this was not their first time recording together. They both recorded for the Domain label at age 12 "A Fellow Needs A Girl" and an original song "Wildcat"/"Black Cat" by the Crescendos, a Sepe/Brooks Production. On the Red Bird Label as 'The Secrets', Frank Knox sang lead vocals on "Everyday" and an original song "A Smile Upside Down", produced by legendary soul producer Johnny Brantley, a Vidalia
