about

Blending lyrical folk with hints of swing and blues, Elbury work to bring thought-provoking songs to an audience who are appreciative of strong melodies and warm guitar arrangements. Since their early writing sessions, Edward and Michael have drawn on their diverse musical interests to create an aural experience which has been praised by folk, blues and indie fans alike. In 2011, Elbury saw that it was time to expand their sound and started the search for a bass player. After a quick audition process, Edward and Michael quickly settled on the talents and low grooves of Tom Beith. As a song-writing team, Elbury plunder diverse literary sources for inspiration and try to find unique perspectives on the quirks, puzzles and tragedies of life and the human experience. This, as in all things creative, is a never-ending process! Elbury combine intricate finger-picking, deep bass grooves, considered arrangements and plaintive harmonies in a heartfelt performance which has brought forth both stunned silence and rousing applause from listeners. We hope you enjoy it! 2010 was a busy year for Elbury – the band quickly found their feet playing at venues such as: • Chalk Bar, Wooloongabba • Balcony 153, Brisbane City • Kitty O’Sheas, Caxton Street • Granite Belt Flavours Road Show held in the Formal Gardens, South Bank • Unplugged Cafe, Sandgate • Bleeding Heart Cafe, Brisbane City In November 2010, we emailed a demo of our track ‘1968’ (http://elburymusic.blogspot.com/2011/02/1968.ht
