"El Medico" CUBATON rapper Reynier Casanayor Grinan comes from Sierra Maestra where once, 50 years ago, the Cuban revolution found its origin. The 29 year old performer studied medicine at the University of Santiago de Cuba and established together with two study colleagues his first rap-band "Garganta de Fuego" in 1993. In 2002 he successfully finished his studies. He loves his profession as medical practitioner just as much as his music career. "El medico" writes his own songs and his extraordinary voice is responsible for his particular style of CUBATON. Thanks to the cooperation with the swedish Label Topaz Records, he landed as the first musician ever the international hit "Chupa Chupa" in 2005 and reached the eighth position in the spanish single charts. "El Medico" is celebrated as one of the biggest stars in Cuba and of course in the world of CUBATON. His brand new hits such as "Ping Pong" or "Yo lo vie" are being listened to 24/7.
