Out from the city of Angers (France) – home of legendary rock’n’roll heroes the THUGS –, EL BARÖN and FRANCK BRISSETTI offer with « Woodpecka shoes » a first album that is a real alternative to generic electronic music. Ex-members of THE DRIFT and KYU (bands that got their moments of fame in the 90’s), the pair turned their interrest to electronic music a decade ago and formed EL BARÖN BRISSETTI in 2003. They released two demos on CD (“ZZT girl” and “Like a dead pony”) which caught the attention from the medias and got rave reviews from the press. EL BARÖN BRISSETTI condenses the groove to technopunk, combines the beat to electro-dub and delivers an energy which is plain and non-affected. Overdosed with testosterone, bristling with vintage sounds (the pair is crazy for analogic material) and oozing tongue-in-cheek humour.
