On the 86th day of 1999 Charlie and Ben decided to start a band. Doug the Slug gave Ben a bass guitar and Charlie got a six string for his birthday. Two years later, on the 8th or possibly the 6th day of 2001, Eighty-Six was formed. With J-Mac on drums and Harry on guitar, Charlie picked up a microphone and they set out on their mission for world domination. The lineup has been shaken, but never stirred over these six years despite battles won, battles lost, broken vans, overindulgence, underindulgence, chronic criminal activity, broken acoustic guitars and a serious lack of respect for authority figures. Their style shifts neatly between lightly picked ambience and overwhelming power, and their live shows are visually commanding spectacles in the art of rock and roll. Their youthful arrogance is unabashed, their vices are damaging, and their talent is undeniable. As Mark Nelson has been known to say: "The answer is always 86. It all depends on how you phrase your question." User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
