Artist
Egon Egemann is a Swiss artist that represented Switzerland at the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest with a song called "Musik klingt in die Welt hinaus" that came 11th with 51 points. He also co-wrote the Swiss entry "Lass ihn" performed by Gunvor in 1998. Egon Egemann studied at the Academy of Music in Graz and Vienna, Austria. His main instrument, the violine, seemed a somewhat unusual choice for a student taking classical music and jazz. Following graduation, Egon spent a prolonged stay in the USA attending the Berklee School of Music, Boston and via personal contacts to the country scene, went on to Nashville. This enabled him to widen his musical horizon and brought invaluable experience. At that time Egon also met Stephane Grapelli in New York, which was one of the important crucial experiences in his carreer!. On return to Europe, Egon Egemann was engaged as solo violinist with the Swiss Radio Orchestra DRS-Big Band. Very soon Egon Egemann's career developed to one of the well known, successfull acts of Switzerland's, Germany's and Austria's music scene. Taking time out for a longer period, Egon Egemann went "underground". He devoted all of his time to creativity and the realization of a project born out of an idea he had been carrying around in his head for some considerable while. It was to be the summary of all his musical knowledge and experiences: Mad Manoush is born! User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may a
