about

Edward M. Zajda (born 1941 in Chicago) is an American electronic composer. He took his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music at De-Paul University, studying traditional music composition under Donald Jenni and Leon Stein. He was mostly influenced by John Cage and Gordon Mumma. Not being in one of the centres for electronic music he built his own studio, possibly the first studio for electronic music in Chicago. After a while he found that he was spending more time putting together equipment than composing music on it, so in 1967 he began using a moog synthesizer. He released one album in 1969, called "Independent Electronic Music Composer". User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
