Edd Byrnes (born July 30, 1932) is an American actor best known for his starring role as "hepcat" Gerald Lloyd "Kookie" Kookson III in the late fifties/ early sixties' US television series 77 Sunset Strip. Byrnes capitalised on the success of his character by releasing a number of singles, most notably "Kookie, Kookie, Lend Me Your Comb," a duet with Connie Stevens that made it into the top 5 of the US charts.
