Earthists. is a four-piece progressive metalcore band hailing from Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. The band was formed in early 2015 and consists of vocalist Yui Kawashima, guitarist and vocalist Yuto Hirabayashi, bassist Shugo Kurokawa, and drummer Yuya Fujii. Initially, the band had a second guitarist, Yuta, who later departed. Their musical style is rooted in djent and metalcore, with additional influences from jazz and pop, reflecting the diverse musical backgrounds of each member. Earthists. self-identify as "naturecore," emphasizing themes related to nature and existence. Their music features technical guitar work, a groove-driven rhythm section, emotional singing, and piano elements. In the early stages of their career, Earthists. released several singles, which garnered attention and set the tone for their musical journey. These singles include "FLUX," released on January 25, 2015, "Winterfell," released on March 26, 2016, and "Resonating Light," released on December 28, 2016. In a remarkably short span of time since their formation, Earthists. achieved notable success. They signed with the esteemed American metal label Tragic Hero Records within two years and released two full albums, "Dreamscape" on March 8, 2017, and "LIFEBINDER" on August 17, 2018. The band's sophomore album was supported by tours alongside acts like Novelists, Gideon, and Crystal Lake.
