Artist
Earl Songer was from Charleston, West Virginia who was working in Dearborn, Michigan long about 1954. He learned to play the guitar and harmonica while he was growing up and after a hitch in the U.S. Army, became a professional entertainer. The Coral Records label liked what they heard and signed him to a recording contract. Some of those first tunes he recorded for them included: * Smiling Through The Years * We're Satisfied * Sansoo * Who Will Send Your Picture To? * Too Free With Your Love * Unwelcome Bride In a 1954 article, they mention that Earl wrote all of his songs. He was assisted on his recordings and personal appearances by his wife, Joyce, who played electric steel guitar. Earl's biggest thrill by then was appearing on Ernest Tubb's show over WSM in Nashville and appearing on the same show with Hank Williams in Detroit.
