There are two units named "EUROX". One was formed in 1984 in Tokyo, Japan. The original members were Henri Sekine(keyboards & violin), Hal Okano (bass), Tatsuo Nozawa (drums), Tsutomu Kurihara(guitars), and MNEMO (lead vocals). Before releasing their first single entiled "COLD LINE" c/w "OUT OF CONTROL" they worked for a few pieces of background music for TV commercials, such as MIKI HOUSE clothes for children, a SUNTORY drink supplement, and cocktails produced by the same company. "COLD LINE" was originally the song for the SUNTORY cocktails. It was released in Japan in 1984, and was also released in Italy, where the record sold 20,000 copies. Their second single "THE GALIENT WORLD" c/w "HOSHI NO ICHIBYO" sold 170,000 copies in Japan in the same year. The two songs were the theme tunes for a TV animation entitled "PANZER WORLD GALIENT". Their first and the second singles also interested some people in the British music industry, who offered them a job as opening performers for LEVEL 42's UK tour. However, the lead vocalist MNEMO unexpectedly quit the band in the same year of 1984 and EUROX was obliged to find another singer. Later the band worked for one of the most popular Japanese female singers in the 80s, Nakamori Akina. And enjoyed great success, but as a band its popularity petered out and finally broke up in the late 80s. Twenty four years had passed before Henri Sekine appealed to the rest of the band for a reunion and the re-formation of EUROX in the early spring
