When he first picked up his father's old nylon-string guitar in high school, Dylan Ward was too impatient to master many of the rock songs he wanted to play, so he began writing his own songs as a way to practice without becoming disenchanted. Thus, a two-decade love affair with songwriting was born. Dylan grew up in southwest Virginia, and the Appalachian bluegrass and redneck country of the area, as well as the ubiquitous classic rock radio, can be heard as a background influence on his music. The following year's work resulted in his second solo album, "The Chasing Of The Storm", released in Sept. 2011. Dylan plays as a solo act in and around Albuquerque, and occasionally on trips back to Boulder, where he has a standing invitation to sit in with The Whiskey Bottles. He is currently building a band in Albuquerque that draws upon the alt-country roots of the Bottles and fuses them with modern
