Dva Dereva is an ethic ambient/new age project from Kropyvnytskyi (Ukraine) , formed in 2010, now based in Cyprus. Made up of Nadezhda Makarova & Artem Cherchynskyi, "Dva Dereva" translates as "Two Trees". Most of the band's history has been centred around performing acoustic concerts. Their personality comes through in their use of worldly ancient musical instruments (such as didgeridoo, drums, flutes, singing bowls), different kinds of percussion, and using various vocal techniques (including overtone & throat singing). Now the music of Dva Dereva moves towards encompassing electronic sounds too; where live ethnic instruments are combined with modern electronic devices, still preserving its archaic and meditative nature and putting shamanic & spiritual notions to the forefront.
