Dubz McKenzie (real name Mando Cervantes) is a seasoned DJ and producer based in Chicago, active in the house music scene for over a decade. Musical Roots Growing up in Chicago, Dubz was deeply influenced by the city's legendary house sound of the late 80s and 90s. His musical style is a reflection of this era, shaped by pioneers like Dj Sneak, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Farley Jackmaster Funk, and Paul Johnson. He cultivated his focus on art and music while attending Chicago’s famed Columbia College. Career and Sound Known for his "funky cut up style," Dubz McKenzie has released music and remixes under his primary moniker and also as part of the Chop City djs. His work can be heard on labels like Soul Shift Music. Current Projects Dubz McKenzie is actively working on multiple projects, including the track “Smoke you out” on Illegal Cargo Records and contributing production to the upcoming album for his Chicago hip-hop crew, Amature Vets.
