Dub the Magic Dragon are a 5 piece band formed and based in Melbourne, Australia since 2005. They combine Eastern Traditional music with African/Latin rhythms and Western sensibilities to create an orgasmic listening experience. The focal point of Sitar leading the tantric sounds of Dub/Drum n Bass/ DubStep produces a moveable, hypnotic and sexy sound. Often incorporating live circus and acrobatic acts, a typical show consists of Sitar, Guitar, Drums/Percussion, Bass, Vocals, Keys, Horn section, MC’s and Belly Dancers and has been described as “The best rave music you’ll ever hear except played on real instruments and totally live!” Dub the Magic Dragon has a multi-cultural line up with all members studying and playing professionally in many different parts of the globe including Australasia, Europe, India and North America. With two albums released to date Dub the Magic Dragon are about to release their self-titled third, hot on the tail of a highly successful tour of India where the band were received with immense fervour. Their music can now be heard on Indian television and radio and onboard Air India and SpiceJet flights. The band have played and appeared as favourites at all major festivals in Australia, including Rainbow Serpent, Kiss My Grass, Shine On, Renaissance, Maitreya, Royal Doof, Earthcore and St. Kilda festivals.
