Dropshard formed in September 2007 from the ashes of Antares, a group born in the pews of the school. The roots of the band find their natural habitat in a mixture of progressive music 70s, with particularly attentive ear to Genesis, Yes, Jethro Tull, King Krimson, Led Zeppelin and groups from the contemporary progressive/alternative scene like Pain of Salvation, Riverside and Porcupine Tree. The ongoing attempt to create their own music takes them to affect between 2008 and 2009 two EP, respectively DSI and DSII, reflecting clearly the intentions and the excitement that move the group. In 2010, having reached a stable formation, the band plays an agreement live performances, culminating in the achievement of the final stages of some major events and festivals of emerging music and the participation in the first edition of exProg Mogliano Veneto, an event that leads them to play next to such illustrious names as Marillion,b]Tony Levin and Le Orme. In parallel, the quintet is dedicated to writing the music and lyrics of what will be their first album. In February 2011, in fact, Anywhere But Home sees the light, the first studio album by the band, which develops in the suite of eight movements of the same name plus the bonus track Freedom Supermarket. The disc is distributed internationally through Sonic Vista Music UK record label of Ken Foster. The exciting and unexpected success of their first album results in numerous positive reviews and excellent feedback from the public.
