Driveset arose from the Underground Baltimore Maryland modern rock/metal scene with groove and intensity Jan 2005. In the past seven months, the band has written and recorded a slew of intense metal songs that have got the attention of many in such a short time, exploding onto the scene, and earned them the attention of several record companies both domestic and overseas. The band attributes its success to its hard work and determination from all of its members. The band formed when brothers Ken and Kevin Pedersen recruited local drummer Jimmy Zane. The trio quickly began writing new material, and eventually acquired Bob Wolfe for vocals. In June 2005 , Driveset posted their first Full length CD Force of Habit on the Internet via cdbaby and available at http://www.driveset.net/ . In the first month 200 copies were sold as virtual unknowns. With the success of Force of Habit, this prompted Driveset to release a single "Half Dollar Truth" along with the full length CD and showcase even more of the bands talents and musicianship. The songs are still climbing the local and cyber scene and are adored by both fans and critics alike. Driveset combines the complexity of old school groove and American/European metal music with de-tuned, rhythmic syncopation, as well as melodic singing and musical passages. The band is influenced by bands such as Helmet, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Stompbox, and Many others.... User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; a
