The concept of Driven by Misfortune was coming into view in 2006, while lunatics and conspirators Keenan Robinson and James McEvoy contemplated the idea of starting a band in a guitar class down in Casa Grande Union High School (crappy little school). Original titles for the band were thrown around, such as ’Hosers, Skanks and Killers’, ’Misfortunate Exception’, and ’Stinky Pete and the Bacterial Infections’. The actual band Driven by Misfortune was formed in early 2007. The original focus was to be a punk band, however that focus changed when alto saxophonist and later bassist, Matthew Munden joined the band, it was decided that they would lean more towards ska, and since then they have been hugging the smooth curves of ska music. A few months later the band gained it’s most recent member, Jesus "Not-The-Son-Of-God" Melendez, known by some as DJ Fat Foo.
