"Improvisational, progressive music influenced by indie, post-rock, jazz and electronica with an active interest in doing what you least expect." Drifting in Colour is a band based in Augusta, Maine that is only beginning their musical journey. With a large variety of influences from each member, the band fuses many different styles to create a sound that is uniquely theirs. The band got their start in 2011, when Cole Blouin and James Watts were looking to start a progressive, psychedelic rock band. After experimenting with several drummers and adding keyboardist/vocalist/percussionist Isaac Gingras to the mix, the band solidified under the moniker Psychedelic Sage for slightly under 2 years before adding an additional member, Arthur Hosford, changing their name to Drifting in Colour, and greatly expanding their setlist. Cole brings improvisation, progressive rock, post-rock, classical and jazz-fusion to the mix. James (known to his friends as Jamie) brings the same interest in improvisation and prog rock, adding electronica and health foods to the mix. Isaac is the indie rocker of the band, recently bringing a Lumineers cover into rotation. Arthur, the band's newest addition, brings chillwave, post-punk and an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of rock to the table. Chase just does whatever he wants. The band asks potential listeners to search them up on archive.org under the name "Psychedelic Sage" for free audio to several concerts. - Cole Blouin, July 2013 Cole Blo
