Artist
There are more than one artist with the name Dreyfus; 1. Dreyfus is the solo project of producer and songwriter Morgan Black. Originally from Hobart, Tasmania, Black now resides in Melbourne, Victoria. He began producing electronic music in 2010, and released his debut EP, Terraform, in May 2012. Combining ambient samples with organic basslines and wonky drums, Terraform is a melting pot of influences and styles. Black studied jazz guitar performance at UTas and currently studies music business and audio production at RMIT. A keen guitarist, he also plays in Melbourne alt-pop band A Sky on Fire. 2. Teen indie-rock band Dreyfus formed in 1999 in North Wales. The band's line-up originally consisted of Danny Whear (vocals/guitar), Tom Edwards (bass), James May (guitar) and Chris Walker (drums). The latter two were replaced in 2000 by Will Hesketh and Ben Draper, who was in turn replaced by Peter Wylde. The group released a handful of indie chart hits before Whear was critically injured in a freak snowboarding accident in 2001. Hesketh went on to feature in a succession of Manchester Americore bands and was most recently seen drumming for minimalist rock duo Former Bullies. Edwards joined Paper Cuts alongside ex-Symposium singer Ross Cummins and runs the London-based Tigertrap label.
