Emo/pop punk from Comox, BC. Released "Let's You And Me Take Over..." in 2002 under Ethics Records. Active circa 2001-2004. "Drakes Advantage hails from Comox Valley, British Columbia, Canada. They formed in 2000 under the name the Dreadnoughts with a lineup of Pat McAllister on drums, Lee Ketterer on bass, Tyler Schwindt and Matt Postal on guitars and vocals. After a few shows around changed their name to Drakes Advantage. After a while change was needed so Matt moved to Vocals and resigned from guitar. That summer they went in to record at the now famous, Rec-Age Recorders to record with Vancouver punk hero, Jesse Gander (of DBS(r.i.p), Operation Makeout (mint records)), and recorded the 6 songs that now appear on the "lets you and me take over..." CD/EP. Shortly after embarked on their first cross-Canada tour, playing with bands such as: the red light sting, hot hot heat, ripcordz, end this week with knives, sunset on broadway, st. tibs day and more...."
