about

Double Nines are a power trio from Boston, Mass. Their music is equal parts rock, post hardcore and grunge pop. After forming in 2008 at the suggestion of a mutual friend, the band quickly built a set of tunes and began playing local clubs. Salty scene veterans and fresh-faced newcomers alike were immediately impressed with their musicianship and intensity at live gigs. Their self-titled debut album comes at the heels of their first two EPs and showcases the band’s ability to write focused, energetic songs. With its release they are looking forward to expanding their audience on the East Coast and beyond. All three members have previous experience playing in accomplished bands. Singer/guitarist Kevin Rheault comes from the hardcore punk world but has also played as a touring musician with pop and rock bands. Tim Brennan created an impressive reputation as a sought after drummer in his hometown of Hartford, Connecticut. Dallas, Texas native Ben Karnavas’ skill as a bassist has helped many Boston bands solidify their standing. Their coming together has amplified each other’s abilities and the result is as catchy as it is compelling.
