Donny Denim is the short lived alter ego of Budget Rock veteran Darin “the Big Ragu” Raffaelli (gutarist/ singer for Supercharger, svengali/ producer/ song writer/ spiritual sherpa for the Bobbyteens,early Donnas and Brentwoods and all around heckler and no good-nick). AM Radio was his band ( with Brian Hermosillo aka Fever B from the Fevers, los Retardos, Sweet Faces and Skipper and Kathy Walker of the Fevers, los Retardos and the Pinkz). In 1999 they put out one 45 on Raffaelli’s Radio X records as a laugh and became forever part of Bdudget Rock mythos. They have played the Gonner Fest 4 (Sept 2007) in Memphis and Budget Rock Fest 8 (Sept 2009) in San Franciso as Donny Denim and the Meatballs (with Russell Quan on bass and Chris Santamaria on guitar) and as Donny Denimn and the Speghetti-o’s (with Gavin May of the Fevers and Rantouls on guitar and Will Finn of the Rantouls on bass).
