The Donkies Van Duff is an Experimental/Alternative Rock band with Post-rock elements from Xalapa, Veracruz, México. They start at mid-2007 after the re-structuration of an old cover band. Since the beginning they follow the ideal of creating a fresh and innovative musical project, without fear of experimentation and always trying to propose new dynamics. Along their development, through experience and the acquisition of new influences, the band consolidates a mature and concrete concept. Songs get more complex without losing the easy-listening attribute that characterizes them. Sound landscapes are generated and collapsed by a shot of energy that breaks through effects, sounds and distortions. Donkies Van Duff music explores from subtle and contemplative sounds to dark, chaotic and progressive sections. An important part of the music they present is instrumental. In 2009 they record their first homonym EP at Oliver Records Studios, consisting of 6 songs that shape the first impression of the development since their beginning. At the end of that year they win the Rock Fest Xalapa, sharing stage with Los Daniels. In 2010, after having made an important presence in the local scene and having created an energetic and varied live show, the Donkies Van Duff participate on the cultural festival Cumbre Tajín, playing at el Nicho de la Música, sharing stage with Natalia Lafourcade, La Maldita Vecindad & Plastilina Mosh.
