Don’t Look Back is a French band formed in 1999 in Valence, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The group is known for its evolution from post-rock roots to a more diverse and accessible sound. Over the years, they have gained recognition within France. Don’t Look Back was formed by Renaud “Ren” Brustlein, Teut, Jean-Charles “Charles” Debeaux, and Grégory “Gregg” Bondono. They quickly began composing original material, leading to the release of their first self-produced demo, G.Sterm Music, in 2001. After a series of live performances, the band caught the attention of the independent label Supersonik Sound, which led to the recording of their debut album, Drunk in Your Arms. Recorded live in just three days in their rehearsal space, this album was well-received by critics. Released in 2002, all 1,000 copies of the album sold out. Following the release of their debut, Don’t Look Back embarked on a tour, performing in cities like Paris, Lyon, Bristol (UK), and Colmar. The band gained significant stage experience, sharing the bill with notable acts such as A Silver Mt. Zion, Karate, Tantrum, Andrew Bird, Cyann & Ben, and Berg Sans Nipple. In 2005, the band signed with the label Noise Digger after being noticed during a performance in Paris. They recorded their second album, Brighter, during the winter of 2005, releasing it in October of that year.
