Artist
The English-speaking world knows him best as the chatty blues-rock enthusiast who fronts Tokyo band ズボンズ (Zoobombs to the katakana-impaired), but his saucily-worded concert t-shirts — pictures of which will not likely be posted here on account of the banhammer — also paint Don Matsuo (see also: ドン・マツオ... again with the katakana!) as a man of mystery, and recent shows and releases in Japan have seen him wading into dubby ethno-funk waters under fantastic names like "The Don Matsuo Metamorhythmic Experience". Touring constantly, he often poaches like-minded members of local bands for backup duty and session work; pretty much all of Limited Express (Has Gone?) and Ni-Hao!, for example, accompanied him on his first solo album. Is there no end to this omnivorous performer's energy? Will anybody come along and supplement this mediocre bio with some useful information at some point? It doesn't look like it so far, but only time will tell for sure. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
