Don Haugen is a composer and sound experimenter based in Eugene, Oregon, USA. Haugen has also performed under the moniker of Warning Broken Machine; but has since shed that name. Since 1989 started working with tape loops, oscillators, synthesizers, feedback, contact mics and more. Haugen's current work focuses on experimenting with location specific sound and room dynamics, with precision and control. Utilizing a vast arsenal of home built electronics and re-purposed vintage test instruments to create sonic texture-scapes. Haugen's compositions range from drones, whispering noise to cacophony structures. Haugen has had the opportunity to perform throughout the Western United States; sharing the stage with such artists as Z'EV, Emil Beaulieau, The Haters, Dave Philips, Negativeland, members of Skinny Puppy and played as an uncredited member of Pigface on a few occasions in the mid-90's as well doing vocals and playing an amplified gourd in a live Merzbow performance. Don Haugen been featured in festivals such as the Splinter Squid Festival (Seattle, WA), NorCal Noise Festival (Sacramento, CA), Eugene Noise Festival, Denver Noise Festival, Noisepollenation (Los Angeles, CA), Portland Noise Festival, Godwaffle Noise (San Francisco, CA), several live radio performances and West Coast American tours. His recordings have released on Eerie Materials, Human Monster, Control Valve, Roil Noise Offensive, Ratskin, Brise-Cul, Dolor Del Estamago, Obscurica, Enterruption and Obfuscated
