Domenico Antonio Di Fiore (Naples, May 1686 - Naples, 1755) was an Italian actor, librettist and composer. Di Fiore was born in Naples to Franco and Vittoria Ferraiuolo. Di Fiore married, for the first time, in 1710 with Giuseppina Lepore, who died in 1734 and, a few months later, married again, with Anna Maria Santangelo. It was a famous Pulcinella of popular theaters, up to the San Carlino theater, where it was active until its last days. During his career he was also active as a singer and composer: in fact, he linked the mask of Pulcinella to the comic opera. He wrote three librettos of comic opera, two of which are mainly parodies : one, Il Nerone detronato , of a serious opera , the other, Bajazet in a cage , of a tragedy by Jean Racine ; the third, Capitan Giancocozza , refers to the themes of the Commedia dell'arte.
