Disillusioned with the monotony of life, Doc and Yupi decided that they would try and break through the social morés of their time. The group was founded circa mid 2008, and draws influences from the likes of Regina Spektor, their school's cleaning woman, the Scientist who discovered DNA, bebo stalking tendancies of their own, and overly expensive cafés. Doc and Yupi were originally formed as the alter egos of two teenage girls with 'little to be at.' Although at the beginning they were intending on simply annoying people with their compulsive lies and persistance in irritation, the girls' lives changed forever after a fateful evening in which they accidentally created their first hit, "I Hate Rome." Receiving outstanding reviews from critics, the song made history as the fastest selling number one single from people who wear red noses, beating the Comic Relief hit of the previous year. Their debut album 'We Love BMIs' helped the girls be recognised by Time magazine as 'Michael Jackson if he were two white girls.'
