"KISS of the Beast" is a debut album by French producer Doc Singe, whose beats heavily vibe cosmopolitan New York. Doc Singe uses his MPC and SP 1200 like a kaleidoscope, spinning 1990's classic backpack influence with guest MCs that epitomize the lost era: Kool Keith, PaceWon MF Grimm, Insight, Count Bass D, Lil Sci aka John Robinson, 2Mex, Freestyle Professors, Rob Swift, more. His use of the obscure samples, luminous arrangements and the superimpositions of sounds create a cinematographic backdrop, a track rooted in images. "Island" Jazz blended with the Moroccan groove, while referencing retro jingles of Christmas, Doc Singe recycles all in a singular maelstrom.
