DJ XTC, as he loves to refer to his stage name from one of his all time favourite on air personalities as the “often imitated never duplicated one” , has over the past 13 years been an influential part of the music industry. Working on FM radio, and online radio, XTC has charted what would become some of the best in industry talent. He’s had the opportunity to be mentored by some of the most influential DJ’s and producers in Canada and around the world. A friend to several Juno award winning artists and songwriters, and well know promoter in the “scene”, he considers himself to be one step ahead of the continuous evolution of the music industry. “It’s important that artists don’t forget who their audience is, and who’s actually pushing them forward in their careers” XTC says. “Too many negatives towards fans is causing a massive backlash in sales globally in our industry. We need a truce, and to start using technology. If artists would actually stop for a second and look where the market and money is rather then blame their fans for their issues, this industry would be moving forward at a rapid pace.” XTC has also referred to the settlement in the US writers strike as an “example of the new industry we are currently faced with.” In the past he has packed clubs to capacity, and rocked dance floors.
