Divine Intervention Coalition is American experimental new wave and psychedelic electronic artist Julian McFarland. McFarland played keyboard for Columbia blues/rock/jam band Counterfeit Heroz from 2003 to 2005. His debut album, Start A War To Stop Yourself, produced in 2006, is a 22-track concept album recorded during a period of mental depression. The title track, "Start A War To Stop Yourself" is the only non-instrumental song on the album and features vocals by Julian and his older brother, John-Paul McFarland, also known as In Dark Trees. The moniker Divine Intervention Coalition is derived in part from glam-rock artist Roxy Music's "Mother of Pearl" and Tears For Fears' "Sowing The Seeds Of Love." McFarland also play
