Disciplina Kičme (now known as Disciplin A Kitschme) was one of two spin-offs from the seminal Belgrade post-punk/new-wave band Šarlo Akrobata. Founded in 1982 by Dušan Kojić - Koja (bass and vocals), Disciplina Kičme was characterized by shifting and unconventional line-ups: bass with one or two drummers, sometimes with and sometimes without a brass section. Their sound is best described as an aggressive, artistic rhythmic explosion, continuously experimenting to explore new expressive possibilities, drawing inspiration from the traditions of Hendrix, No Wave punk funk, and Motown. The band ceased its activities in 1991 due to the wars and political situation in the former Yugoslavia. In 1994, Dušan Kojić resumed his work under the slightly altered name of Disciplin A Kitschme, with a different lineup, marking a new phase.
