Dihelson Mendonca is a well-known Pianist, arranger, and Composer from Brazil. He is considered by many experts as one of the greatest artists of the new generation from Brazil. His wide repertoire, along with his incredible virtuosity ranging from classical music to Jazz has led him to achieve great acceptance and popularity. He is also a fine composer, having made more than a hundred instrumental and vocal pieces. He has worked with some of the greatest musicians from Brazil, including Hermeto Pascoal, Toninho Horta, Arismar do Espirito Santo, Vinicius Dorin, Marcio Resende, Luciano Franco, Fhatima Santos, Lia Chaves, and many many others. He was awarded the best keyboardist in 2003 in "Nelson's Award of music", an important award in the northeast Brazil. He has also played on many Jazz festivals and travelled throughout the country. After more than 20 years as a musician, Dihelson Mendonca is recording his solo work on a CD, after working as a sideman on?many others. This new CD, which the sugestive title: "Jazz Brasil", is very coherent with his carreer. He has also worked in partnership with some great local composers, recording music from Haroldo Ribeiro (his main musical partner), Pachelly jamacaru (worked on two albuns as arranger and keyboardist, called 'Balaios da Vida' and 'Pachelly Jamacaru' ) and Luciano Franco, a great bass player who has also a nice work.
