Digby and The Lullalby is an indie singer-songwriting duo from Cape Town, South Africa. The members are Rouchelle Hubsch, Darren Peens. There is something undeniably captivating about South African duo Digby and The Lullaby. Perhaps it is their introspective honesty and uncomplicated melodies, or perhaps it’s the fact that their journey as a singer-songwriter duo swept them off their own feet and down the aisle. Most fans and critics however, think it’s simply that these two complement each other perfectly. From Cape Town to New York, Rouchelle Hubsch (piano and vocals) and Darren Peens (guitar and vocals) have cast their indie-folk spell on audiences everywhere. Digby and The Lullaby have a flair for intimate performances and single out the theatre as their favourite place to play. “Theatres are irresistible”, smiles Rouchelle - “it makes our connection with the audience so real and tangible.” Digby and The Lullaby released their debut album ‘The Somewhere Wind’ in 2014. It was produced in New York by Kieran Kelly (Angus and Julia Stone, Better Than Ezra, Sufjan Stevens). Their live performances to date include shows at Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town, The Chaplin in Port Elizabeth, Googies in New York, The Rhumbelow Theatre in Durban, Potters Place Jeffreys Bay, The Cash Store in Port Elizabeth and for three years running, the prestigious Hilton Arts Festival in Durban where extra seating had to be put in after their first performance.
