During a moment of inspiration, the project DieveNoire was born—carrying an intriguing message behind its creation. Lead vocalist Lariyah Perrin, also widely known as a tattoo artist under the name Iron Wings Tattoo, was in Europe in mid-2023 for a music festival. There, she was profoundly inspired by a late-night impromptu performance by a group of friends, some of whom were well-known figures in the black metal scene. After the festival, in the early hours of the morning, they gathered with acoustic guitars and shakers, playing familiar songs for everyone nearby. This intimate moment, combined with Lariyah’s long-standing love for old-school country, dark blues, and melodic rock and metal, moved her to pick up a guitar and start writing music. Originally, this new endeavor was intended as a solo project. However, after the overwhelmingly positive reception of her debut single, “Gunslinger in Black,” she decided to form a full five-member, stage-ready band. Lariyah has been part of the heavy metal scene since 2012, lending her vocals to several bands and continuing her passion for metal with Havron. So where did this new direction come from?
