Artist
Comprised of Felix Kubin and Stefan Mohr. Die Egozentrischen 2 released one self-titled album on the very small German Was Soll Das ? Schallplatten label which focused mainly on cassette-only releases from Germany, often electronica. All releases were in very small editions (usually between 100 and 300 pcs). Die Egozentrischen 2 could be described as Noise, Synth-Pop, Experimental. Alfred Hilsberg the so-called "Punk-Pope" saw one of their concerts at the Hamburger Hafenklangstudio and was extremely impressed to see how they managed to, within 20 minutes, chase all visitors out of the hall. Hilsberg then offered them many gigs at his festivals, for example: “In der Hitze der Nacht”, 1985 with Rainald Goetz, Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle, Dietrich Diederichsen, Kosmonautentraum, Hometaping Is Killing Music and others. This stuff was, in any case, not fitting for use in restaurants and hotel elevators. Today less than ever.
