Acclaimed Malawi-born jazz drummer Dick Khoza was a regular and in-demand session-man at the many jazz venues in Johannesburg in the early seventies. These included the Pelican in Soweto where he played in the band the Jazz Revellers with bassist Sipho Gumede. He released an afro-jazz fusion album called "Chapita" in 1976.
