Daria Comănescu (b. 2005), known by her stage name Dharia, is a Romanian singer and songwriter who rose to fame with her single Sugar and Brownies. In 2018, Dharia, aged 13, cowrote the lyrics of Lost in Istanbul and Count on You with her 21-year-old sister Iarina Comanescu for Thrace Music. She released her first single Sugar & Brownies in October 2018 (also co-written with Iarina). Ultra Music distributed the song worldwide. It crossed 180 million views on YouTube and 18 million streams on Spotify. It gained widespread popularity on Tiktok and ranked no. 1 in Shazam India. It was also enlisted among the No. 1 songs of Turkey in 2019. Dharia’s second single, August Diaries was released in March 2020 followed by another single, Tara Rita, in December.
