Everyday it seems like a bus pulls into Nashville that is full of hopefuls that are chasing their dreams to country music stardom. Seldom do all of these hopefuls last past the first year before they cal it quits. For Devin Belle the path she took to get to Nashville from Alaska helped shape her and readied her to face the ups and downs of the industry. and now here she is with her brand new demo album with 10 songs, 6 of which she played a part in writing. Leaping right through your speakers from the get go is Belle’s outstanding voice and it captures you from the opening track, the upbeat “Mama Never Told Me,” as she runs down a laundry list of everything her mama taught her but how she never warned her of the guy that would steal her heart. This upbeat side of Devin Belle continues to show on this album with songs like “Wild & Free,” “As Good As I Can,” and “I’m Missing Home,” where she sings of the life she has come to love in Nashville but at the same time finds herself missing home. However, as upbeat and fun as this album is, the ballads are the other selling point to Devin Belle. She delivers all of them with heartfelt conviction in her voice that makes you feel her pain on songs like “Rip The Pages Out.” So the cliché goes, everyone in this town is a singer or a writer, but let’s try this one on for size instead, if everyone could sing and write as good as Devin Belle has on this album then this town would have a real tough time deciding on who the stars of cou
