Out of the demise of Tacoma local bands Pistol for a Paycheck and Some By Sea, destruction island takes the torch and continues on. The band began playing together back in 2002. And have since put more focus on this project. destruction island is currently: David Bilbrey - Guitar, Keys and backing vocals Daniel Disparte - Drums Kye A. Hillig - Vocals and guitar Yos-wa - Bass, KORG and backing vocals Bilbrey and Disparte are ex-members of Some by Sea while Hillig and Yos-wa are ex-members of Pistol for a Paycheck. In 2008 they released their first album, "Preaches The New Wilderness".
