Visit us at www.Destracore.com or at Facebook The year was 1998, in the small town of New Carlisle, Ohio. The four piece metal machine known as Destracore played their first notes. In a kitchen Don Potter, Dan Fisher, Shawn Hymer, and Ryan Hough formed a bond that would last for many years. Starting out by playing covers from the artist they looked up to, everything from Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, Metallica, Godsmack, they toned their chemistry and found an identity that would pave the way for original material. Destracore roamed the Ohio scene relentlessly playing live shows as much as they could. Springfield, Ohio was the Destracore Headquarters the first few years of their existence playing the club Area 51 numerous times, as well as the Blue Note, and Club Panama and events like 'Sounds from the Underground' and forming alliances with other local bands such as Grit, Truicide, Regret, Chronic Aggression, Mutiny and many others to bring the Springfield metal scene to prominence. The band also released their debut CD entitled “Yield” from Aztec Records/Studios. The release contained the title track “Yield”, along with “Change”, and “Wasted Love”. In 2002 on the heels of their second release, “Enter the Core” Destracore stumbled into the Kenton, Findlay scene dominated by bands such as Deflagration, Enemy of Mine, Odious to name a few. Now after an 8 year hiatus Destracore is currently working on new material for a new CD and Live shows. User-contributed text is
