Two bands by this name started around the same time. 1. DY from St. Louis, MO started playing in February of 2006. A short lived experiment with Andy on drums, Brittany on 6 string, Justin on the mic, and Danarchy on bass originally, then Coptop for a single show, and finally Todd; the group released Speak Up, Reach Out, Fight Back! right before dispersing in the first month of 2007. A true example of DIY and positive scene re-enforcement, they released Speak Up, Reach Out, Fight Back! on their own dollar to make it free to the public, most of the shows included free food, drink, and admission provided by the band or show organizers. 2. The second band by DY hails from Washington State. Forming in late 2005 they had a rough start, breaking up after their first show.
