Five years after Ralf Jesek and Kai Kampmann have done their first musical steps as NewWave-duo T:H:E (and appeared on a regional compilation), they decide to resurrect this "school-project" at the beginning of 1992. With the new name DERRIÈRE LE MIROIR (inspired by Lewis Carroll's novel 'Through The Looking-Glass') and with Nicole Rellum as additional vocalist they are invited to take part on the third part of the "German Mystic Sounds"-sampler series, initiated by the important German Independent-magazine 'Zillo'. Their 4-track-demo "Simple Blue" is released and introduces their sensitive WavePop impressively to the scene. After a short "guest performance" at 'Spirit Records' DERRIÈRE LE MIROIR sign to 'Session Music Group' in 1993. This company establishes especially for the band a sub-label called 'derrière records' and releases their debut album "Alibis" in summertime. Some chart entrys follow as well as some tv and radio appearances. In autumn the band produces the mini-album "Pregnant E.P." (which got its curious name from Nicole's pregnancy at that time) and works together with the German dancefloor-producer Enrico Zabler (e.g. Masterboy, World's Apart) and the musical actrice Melanie Wittke. In summer 1994 they introduce their new additional vocalist Astrid Reich by the MCD "A Notion Of Light" to their audience. This song also becomes subject matter at a Spanish school.
