Der Wolf, born Jens Albert (* September 27, 1973, in Lüdinghausen), is a German rapper and DJ. He achieved significant chart success in the late 1990s with the singles "Gibt’s doch gar nicht" and "Oh Shit – Frau Schmidt". His subsequent album "Der Wolf – Das Album" also performed well, charting in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In later years, he released additional albums and collaborated with artists such as US rapper Big Daddy Kane and German singer-songwriter Cosmo Klein. He is also active as a DJ in various musical projects and is a co-founder of the record label Bounty Records. Der Wolf began his musical career as a home-scratch DJ with a focus on hip-hop and funk. In 1994, he had his first resident DJ job at the “Zeche” in Bochum. From 1995 onward, he performed in various clubs in the Ruhr area, including Drum ’n’ Bass parties with DMC Quincy, with whom he continues to collaborate and produce music. His debut album "Das Album" (1997) reached number 16 on the German album charts. His music is characterized by sampled funk or soul beats paired with fast rap lyrics. The singles "Gibt’s doch gar nicht" (D 25) and "Oh Shit – Frau Schmidt" (D 18) were particularly successful; Sasha contributed as a background vocalist on the former. The song "Sei dein eigener Held" from the album was featured again in 2002 on the soundtrack of the US film "Die Regeln des Spiels". His follow-up album "Musik aus (M)Einem Jahrzehnt" (1998) did not match the success of his debut but incl
