Dependance is a Christian Rap Dance and Theatre Company based in the North East of England setup in 1998 by Youth for Christ North East. The company offers a variety of creative RE lessons, performing arts workshops, and a live performance of their latest music to secondary schools and youth events. Dependance have 4 full time members who bring a strong focus on dance and music, but it hasn't always been like that. The group started out way back in 1998 with only two full time staff, Stephen being one of them. The rest of the crew were year-out volunteers bringing the total number to 8! In the early days the group had more of an emphasis on drama and produced multimedia plays such as 'Big Mamma' which were performed to entire year groups. Now Dependance primarily work in the classroom allowing for more interaction and encouraging young people to ask questions. The aim of course remains the same: exploring the Christian faith in relation to current issues young people face. At the core of everything that Dependance does lies the Christian faith and this man called Jesus Christ.
